Little Cahunas is our entry level program for children on the team who are not yet physically able or confident enough to handle the demands of competitive swim team practices and meets. However, each child must be able to swim the width of the pool on their own without support in order to provide a safe environment for all participants. If the child is unable to fufill this requirement, swimming lessons with a group or private instructor would be more beneficial. We have compiled a Little Cahunas checklist for each parent to complete for their child prior to the first practice. The checklist is used to provide the coaches with the opportunity to assess their abilities and determine the best instruction. Little Cahunas will be eligible to participate in weekly Clayview meets but the child will only be entered when and if both the coach and parent feel the child is ready for participation.
Little Cahunas practice 10:30-11:00 am, Monday-Thursday (No practices are scheduled for this group on Fridays).
The Dive Team is happy to announce Bridget Wilmes as our new diving coach for 2019. Many of you may remember her as she has participated in our MOKAN meets with The Twisters. She started her diving career with the Twisters when Mitzi Mathews was coaching and continued to dive with Mary Meyers. She had an outstanding high school career at Liberty North and was a State Qualifier. During the last 3 years our team garnered 3 League titles at Championship meets!
We are excited that Bridget will continue the fun filled diving program at Clayview while maintaining a safe environment for our athletes. I hope you plan on joining us this season!
